The Squid Baron continued to work with the Hypno Baron, even fighting against Risky Boots as well as Shantae in different costumes in the DLC modes. The Squid Baron was later seen where he took down a piece of fanart and wanted to replace it with a poster of himself and so did thanks to Shantae. This lead to both Barons to fight against her and after being defeated, Shantae originally thought that he died in battle.

Shantae is the star of her own titular platforming video-game series produced by WayForward Technologies, and one of the latter two Extra Characters introduced to Blaster Master Zero in the Version 1.3 update on July 6, 2017. Overall, Half-Genie Hero is a very fun title with welcome modern conveniences, but just a bit underwhelming compared to my two favorite entries I feel like it’s only a matter of time until Squid Baron gets his own game. In the ending scene, he is seen alongside the heroes at the lighthouse, with his babies running around the screen, but has no lines. The Squid Baron later went to fight against Shantae for his magic seal, only to lose. After Shantae has retrieved the Babies, the Squid Baron reveals that the artifact is the Mermaid Bubble which allows Shantae to attack underwater.
After Shantae gave him some food, he ran deep into a labyrinth.
